Turns out PayRange has a pretty high profile group of investors in its $2.75 million funding round.
When the round was first revealed in federal filings earlier this summer, the only investor named was former head of Google Payments Osama Bedier. Now, new filings reveal that other investors include Anil Aggarwal and Jonathan Weiner, the founders of Money 20/20 conference, as well as Google Ventures.
There’s also Barbara Corcoran, one of the sharks on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” along with her firm’s Phil Nadel. Finally, PayRange has attracted an investment from Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto.
PayRange was founded by Paresh Patel, an unattended retail veteran, to provide operators and consumers with a simple and secure mobile payment and loyalty solution for laundry, vending, amusement, and other small ticket merchants. PayRange is the North American leader in mobile payments for unattended retail, with over 3 million users and a network of machines throughout 350 cities and towns in the US and Canada.
